The Birthing of Tabernacle of Praise Church International

Tabernacle of Praise Church was birthed in Pastor TJ's spirit before he really even knew what it was. He always displayed the ability to minister to those who he came in contact with and they in turn would trust his council and often look to the God in him for spiritual food. Upon much prayer and fasting, Tabernacle of Praise Church was birhted and thus began the first service in the livingroom of the McBrides June 2005.

God has blessed the church to be victorious in many trials, tribulations, ups and downs, members coming and members going. In this season, the Lord taught our leadership the importance in raising Sons and Daughters and not just members. Sons and Daughters stay and pray, members will cleave and then leave.

As the church began to outgrow the living room, Pastor TJ called 3 days of praying and fasting. God revealed where the next move would be. In November 2005, the church then relocated to Faith In the Word in McDonough and shared a space with a Pastor that was already planted there. Again, the church experienced growth and Pastor called another prayer and fast and during a service, while high praise was going forth, the Property Manager came and seen the congregation was packed into the small sanctuary and asked our Co-Pastor and another member to come with her. She showed them a larger facility and asked when could they move. Once again, God showed His hand of favor. Praise will cause your blessing to come and find you! In March 2006, God impressed upon Pastor's heart to go after the building next us. Again, we fasted and prayed and low and behold, God did it again! The Property Manager never ran credit nor did we even have to fill out an application. When you have favor, it speaks for you. It is proven once again, when you don't have what you need that is when favor kicks in for you!

In early 2007, the enemy tried to come in and cause Pastor TJ to lose heart as the enemy tried to come in and destroy the vision of TOPC. As Pastor TJ was driving, contemplating giving up Pastoring and going back to being a Minister of Music somewhere, the Lord led him to 96 S. Zack Hinton Parkway, which was an old movie wharehouse in McDonough, GA. Pastor got out of his car and pressed his face upon the door to look in and the doors opened up. This was 1am in the morning and the Lord had the doors left open just for him. It was then, with tears in his eyes that the Lord spoke to him that this would be our new church home. He then took the congregation down one Sunday after service and we marched around the building seven times praising God, declaring the land was ours and worshipping God for who He was and for leading us yet again to victory.

After much warfare from the owners, the city and the government, the Lord again gave TOPC the land as promised. When we didn't know what to, when our backs were against the wall, our Pastor taught us that "Praise will meet your every need and cancel all the plans of the enemy". It did just that.

In January 2008, the church marched into their new facility thanking and praising God for His faithfulness and all that he did for us! The name was then changed to Tabernacle of Praise Church International because we know that what God has birthed in us is bigger than the city we are planted in. Once we changed the name, people from different countries began to join the ministry.

Pastor TJ and Pastor Shunnae has taught us that if you can't move your situations in the natural get in the spirit by praise and worship and God will give you the artillary that you need to overcome!
